Custom dashboard

Your online shop revenue in one system, your orders in another and your stock in a third. A dashboard brings those figures together on one screen — so you make decisions based on what is actually happening, not gut feeling.

The figures you need to make decisions are almost always scattered: some in your online shop, some in your accounts and some in an export that someone creates manually every Monday. While they remain separate, maintaining an overview takes time and you spot connections too late. A dashboard puts them side by side, up to date, in one place.

Example coming soon — an anonymised dashboard will show how your figures come together on a single screen.

Choose honestly

Power BI or bespoke web dashboard

Two good options for different situations. This is how I make that choice.

Power BI

Microsoft's tool, ideal if your data is already in that ecosystem and you mainly use it internally.

Right for you if

  • you mainly work with Microsoft data and Excel
  • the dashboard is for internal use, by you and your team
  • you want to get started quickly with plenty of ready-made building blocks

Bespoke web dashboard

A browser-based dashboard in your own visual identity that you can also show outside your organisation.

Right for you if

  • you want to show it to customers or partners
  • you have sources that do not fit neatly into Power BI
  • your brand identity and ease of use matter to you

Short recommendation: keeping it internal and using Microsoft data? Choose Power BI. Want to share it with customers, or does your data not fit? Choose a bespoke solution. Still unsure — that is what the conversation is for.

What it costs

A dashboard is bespoke: the price depends on the number of sources and the technology chosen. I provide a price on request, after one conversation. A dashboard is often part of a bigger system — also seebusiness process automation if you want not only to see the figures but also to eliminate the work behind them, or quote software if your main aim is to streamline your sales process.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about dashboards

How much does it cost to have a dashboard built?

That depends on how many sources need to be connected and whether you need Power BI or a bespoke web dashboard. I provide a price after one conversation about the figures you need and where they currently come from. The build is a one-off cost; I state any licences or hosting costs in advance.

Power BI or a custom dashboard — which is better?

Neither is always better. Power BI is strong when you mainly use Microsoft data and the dashboard is internal; much is ready-made and setup is quick. A bespoke web dashboard is better when customers or people outside your organisation need access, or your sources do not fit Power BI cleanly. One conversation usually makes the right direction clear.

Which systems can you retrieve data from?

Usually from the tools you already use: your online shop, accounts, stock system and advertising accounts. If a system offers an integration or export — and most do — it can be included. We discuss what cannot be automated; sometimes manual input is perfectly fine, sometimes it is not worthwhile.

Does the dashboard update automatically?

That is the point. A good dashboard updates itself, so your figures stay accurate without manual upkeep. How often it refreshes — live, daily or weekly — depends on the source and what you need to manage.
