The difference is not in what you see on day one, but in what you notice on day one hundred.
Most sites come from the same box: a purchased WordPress theme, a sliding header and three icons. That works until your visitor leaves while it loads or cannot find what they need. I build without that baggage, which means the site is built to an explicit performance budget and search engines can read the content without unnecessary barriers.
Bespoke also means exactly as extensive as necessary. No features you never use but that slow everything down, and no ten plugins each introducing its own security risk. Everything included is there because you need it.

Five content pages means up to five unique pages, selected from options such as home, services overview, service page, about and contact. Supplied privacy or terms and conditions pages do not count if they require no bespoke editing.

The site goes live, I arrange the redirects and Google submission, and you receive a short explanation of how to update it yourself.

How much does a website cost?
A website from Studio 053 starts at € 1,450 excluding VAT. It is genuinely custom-built, not a purchased theme. The final price depends on the number of pages and requirements such as multiple languages, a booking system or integrations. After one conversation, I give you a concrete figure rather than a range.
How much does it cost to have a website with many pages built?
The base price covers a clear website with your key pages. If you need many more — such as dozens of service or location pages — I price those per page, with a lower rate as volume increases. I also build the site so you can add pages yourself later.
How much does website maintenance cost per year?
Because I do not use a heavy system with weekly plugin updates, fixed costs stay low: you pay the provider directly for hosting and your domain, usually a few dozen euros per year combined. You can outsource maintenance, but it is a choice, not a mandatory subscription.
What is a custom website, and why not just use a theme?
A purchased theme is a coat everyone wears: add your logo and it is done. That works until your customer compares two such sites. A custom website starts with your story and customer, and is exactly as large as needed — not packed with unused features that still slow it down.
Do you work throughout the Netherlands or only regionally?
The studio is in Enschede and most clients are in Twente, simply because meeting in person is easy. But the work is not tied to a postcode: if you are further away and the fit is right, we hold the introductory meeting digitally and everything else works the same way.
Can I update the site myself afterwards?
Yes. You receive an admin area for the parts you want to change yourself, plus a short explanation. No thick manual and no dependency: you own your website.
