Even if someone else built it

Website maintenance without surprises

A website is not a one-off file. Updates, forms, hosting and content need attention — but not every site needs the same subscription.

Four ways to keep your site up to date

The basics

What good website management always includes

  • A restorable backup before high-risk work
  • Checks after updates, not just an automated notification
  • Monitoring for outages and known security risks
  • A clear boundary between included work and a new project
  • A PDF showing what your money paid for

Practical examples

What fits within the monthly allowance for changes?

Copy, photos, team members, opening hours, frequently asked questions and existing content blocks are standard changes. A new booking module, custom calculator or completely new page structure is a separate project.

Not sure? Send me your question. I estimate the time in advance and do not use subscription time for research you have not approved.

Scope

WordPress, static or something else

The fixed packages are designed for WordPress and WooCommerce. A static Astro site does not need plugin updates, but it does require checks on forms, builds, the domain, hosting, content and dependencies. After the quick scan, I will therefore confirm in writing which elements apply.

For existing sites, I first check hosting access, backups, versions, licences and unknown custom code. I do not silently take on technical risks: any necessary recovery or migration is priced separately in advance.

The domain, email and premium licences remain in your name. Hosting is included only where the package explicitly says so.

Questions

Questions about website maintenance

Do you also maintain websites you didn't build?

Yes. I start with a free technical quick scan. This shows me the system, hosting and maintenance backlog before I take responsibility.

Is website maintenance only for WordPress?

The fixed packages are primarily designed for WordPress and WooCommerce. For a static Astro website or another CMS, I carry out the same quick scan and confirm in advance which parts of the package apply.

What happens to unused time for changes?

The monthly time is reserved capacity and does not roll over indefinitely. If you rarely need changes, Safety Net or a support card is usually fairer.

What is included in the PDF report?

Checks, updates, availability, speed where relevant, change time used, issues and up to three next steps. Partner also includes a personal video report.

Can I switch packages later?

Yes. If your website becomes quieter or busier, you can move up or down a package from the next month.

What response times apply?

During office hours (Mon–Fri, 09:00–17:00), I respond within two working days for Safety Net, within one working day for Management and the same working day for Partner if you report the issue before 14:00. These packages are not a 24/7 SLA.

Who is responsible for hosting and licences?

Hosting is included with Management and Partner and optional with Safety Net. The domain, email and paid theme or plugin licences remain in the client's name and at the client's expense. For static sites, I confirm hosting and deployment responsibilities after the quick scan.
